Vinyl Theatre’s “Breaking Up My Bones” Gets Remixed By Math Bishop: Idolator Premiere
’80s-inspired synth-rock staged a major revival last year with bands like WALK THE MOON, Bleachers and Smallpools breathing new life into the genre. Milwaukee’s Vinyl Theatre is part of the same movement. They made major waves with their excellent debut LP Electrogram and are ready to conquer multiple radio formats with catchy new single “Breaking Up My Bones.”
The pop/rock anthem has even been given a gloomy electronic overhaul by Math Bishop. The Los Angeles-based producer, who previously remixed tracks for Two Door Cinema Club and Bad Suns, drags “Breaking Up My Bones” into Thompson Twins/Pet Shop Boys territory — creating a compelling ’80s synthscape for the anthem.
