Alex Newell & Matvey Emerson Cover “Show Me Love”: Listen To The Disco-Pop Version Of The Robin S Classic

Save for a lone February episode of Glee, Alex Newell‘s character Wade “Unique” Adams has been pretty much absent from the series since fall 2013 Cory Monteith tribute episode, “The Quarterback.”

That said, while Newell’s face has been missing from the small screen, his voice has been heard on several dance-pop tracks to emerge over the past year: His own cover of Sigma’s “Nobody To Love” arrived last summer, and, more recently, his vocals have featured on “All Cried Out” by British outfit Blonde and “Stronger,” a new track on the re-released version of Clean Bandit’s debut LP New Eyes.

Alex’s latest foray into upbeat pop is a cover of the early-’90s Robin S classic “Show Me Love,” a collaboration with Moscow producer Matvey Emerson. Their pair give the song a new twist by incorporating a disco-house production.

Funny enough, in addition to the Newell-featuring “Stronger,” Clean Bandit also included their own cover of “Show Me Love” on their re-release of New Eyes.

Give Alex’s cover a listen above.
