VH1 + Palladia's SXSW 2015 Showcase: Live Review
Read our recap of Years & Years, Tove Lo & Seinabo Sey's performances!

The artists performing throughout SXSW festival include many Idolator favorites, and one act that we were amped to see is Gorgon City! The UK electronic duo performed yesterday (March 19) at the IFC Fairgrounds, whose outdoors carnival-themed venue perfectly matched Gorgon City’s lively set.

They kicked off their hour-long performance with “Coming Home,” which is taken from their killer debut LP — 2014’s Sirens. Fellow UK performers Lulu James and Josh Barry helped Gorgon City with their many track features throughout SXSW, and embody the same soulful vibe of the original guest singers. The best example was their take on “Lover Like You,” which has Katy B on the album version. But the audience did not care about those details, as they continued to bounce, wave and groove to the smooth house tunes!

Along with performing various tracks off their album like an amped-up version of “Imagination” (my personal favorite) and singles like their “Right Here” collaboration with Jess Glynne, Gorgon City added in short but effective bursts of live DJ spins that transformed the Austin grounds into a sweltering deep house party that would fit right in at any London underground club.

If Gorgon City ever ends up in your city, definitely be sure to attend!

The Setlist Included:

“Coming Home”
“Real”
“Unmissable”
