FKA Twigs highlights her impressive talents in the self-directed video!

J. Cole’s videos typically include a powerful plot revolving social commentary of the time, and his latest visual for “G.O.M.D.” (off the rapper’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive album) is no different. For the Lawrence Lamont-directed video, Cole goes back to the 19th century where slavery was most prominent in American history.

But instead of accepting slavery, Cole’s character (a house slave) decides to challenge the historical norms where he and other slaves steal the property’s keys and tie up their owners. Towards the end of the video, the group is shown dancing around a bonfire as they watch the plantation go up in flames.

2014 Forest Hills Drive was released in December, and features tracks like “The Intro,” “Apparently” and “Fire Squad.” J. Cole is heading on an extensive tour in support of the album, with Big Sean, Pusha T and more joining him for the ride.
