Clavin Harris And Ellie Goulding’s “Outside” Gets An Oliver Heldens Remix: Listen
Calvin Harris’ fourth LP Motion was initially a little underwhelming after the fit-filled 18 Months, but it has delivered a couple of gems. John Newman-voiced “Blame” is an absolute banger and Haim-assisted floorfiller “Pray To God” is a summer smash in waiting. The Scottish DJ, who may or may not be dating Taylor Swift, is also burning up the charts with atmospheric Ellie Goulding collaboration “Outside.”
While enjoyable-but-not-exactly-memorable in its original form, Calvin’s latest earworm has been radically improved by rising DJ Oliver Heldens. The Dutchman, who topped the UK singles chart in 2014 with “Gecko (Overdrive),” gives “Outside” a winning ’90s house twist that lifts it above the radio-ready, electro-house tat currently clogging up iTunes.
