Nick Jonas Weighs In On Zayn Malik Leaving One Direction: “You Got To Stay True To Yourself”
Nick Jonas knows a thing or two about stepping away from a global pop phenomenon, having been a member of The Jonas Brothers and reigning over tween culture in the mid-to-late ’00’s.
Accordingly, it makes sense that the “Chains” singer was asked for his opinion on Zayn Malik‘s decision to leave One Direction.
While preparing for his performance at the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards, the newly solo singer weighed in on Zayn’s departure in an interview with E! News:
“It’s always tough. There’s never an easy time to make a decision like that. I commend him for doing what he feels is right for him. You got to stay true to yourself. I feel for the One Direction fans and hope they’re all doing okay. It’s one of those things that sometimes, it’s just time to close a chapter.”
Encouraging words! If anyone knows when that time is, it’s Nick, who is currently dominating as a solo artist in the pop scene. Perhaps Zayn will follow suit with his rumored solo work?
