Jason Derulo spends a lot of his "Want To Want Me" video shirtless. Check it out now.

Remember when every heavyweight in the music industry had a protege? (Usher brought us Justin Bieber, Akon co-signed Lady Gaga, to name a few). That trends seems to be making a comeback in 2015 with the breakout success of Flo Rida’s find Natalie La Rose and the signing of Alyxx Dione to Jason Derulo’s Future History Records — a joint venture with RCA.

The newcomer will release her debut single “Chingalinga” on April 6 and it boasts a feature from her chart-conquering boss. Co-written by Derulo, Sean Douglas, Jason Evigan and Jonas Jeberg, the track is sure to garner plenty of attention. So how does the “Want To Want Me” hitmaker feel about his new artist and label? “I am so proud and excited to introduce Future History and Alyxx Dione to the world,” he stated in a press release.
