Kendrick Lamar Releases His “King Kunta” Video: Watch The Rapper’s Compton Takeover

Kendrick Lamar pulled off a huge mainstream move yesterday (April 1), when he premiered the “King Kunta” video via Beats By Dre in the middle of NYC’s Times Square! Now, the official visual has landed on the Internet for us all to enjoy.

The video, directed by Director X, was filmed at the Compton Swap Meet and shows K. Dot performing throughout his hometown, showing off his crew of friends and getting jiggy while doing the C-walk. He is also rocking some fresh white Reeboks — get that promo!

Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly album has features from Snoop Dogg, Ron Isley,Bilal, James Fauntleroy, George Clinton and more. It also includes tunes like “i” and “The Blacker The Berry.” The album is currently sitting pretty at the number one position on Billboard 200.
