After taking an extended break, Avril Lavigne returns with a drama-filled video clip.

It’s been an interesting two years for Avril Lavigne fans. The veteran pop-rocker returned to the top 20 with “Here’s To Never Growing Up,” but her self-titled fifth album soon ran out of steam. To make things worse, the Canadian’s “Hello Kitty” video was widely ridiculed and she disappeared for several months due to a then mystery illness. It turns out the 30-year-old was bedridden for months with Lyme disease and only recently returned to work.

So, what’s next for Avril? She is releasing a new single called “Fly” on April 16 (it’s tied in with the 2015 Special Olympics World Games) and has started recording a Christmas album. Yes, you read that correctly. “I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album, but I’ve never had the time,” she told Billboard. “But now it’s like, ‘You know what, just do it!’ Because that’s something I really want to do, so that’s going to be next for me.” This could be a hot mess, but I’m here for it regardless.
