Prepare To Be Sleighed! Mariah Carey Is Making A Christmas Movie
Forget It’s A Wonderful Life and Miracle On 34th Street! Mariah Carey will lift Christmas movies to new heights when her festive starring vehicle arrives at your local multiplex later this year. The tantalizing project is being developed by Brett Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment and producer Jonathan Shestack. “It’s… about how music can take you back in time,” he told told Entertainment Weekly. “It will be everything you hope a Christmas movie with Mariah Carey would be.”
That’s a pretty bold claim. In my mind, the perfect Mimi-themed Christmas movie would serve as the unofficial sequel to Glitter and reintroduce Billie Frank to the world. It would also somehow involve Santa, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and feature a mash-up of “Loverboy” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Something tells me I won’t get my wish, but this still sounds like a great idea. Mariah is the queen of all things festive and it’s about time she starred in another film.
