LunchMoney Lewis Drops ‘Bills’ EP: Listen To “Mama,” “Love Me Back” & “The Real Thing”
LunchMoney Lewis cements his status as one of 2015’s breakout stars with staggeringly good debut EP Bills. Chances are you’ve already heard the 27-year-old’s ode to debt collection on the radio by now, but the eclectic four-song set proves there’s more to him than “Bills.” Producer Ricky Reed concocts a fluid sound that effortlessly bounces between pop, soul and hip-hop. It provides the perfect palette for the Miami singer/songwriter’s quirky stories and anecdotes.
For example, Lunch delivers a Mother’s Day anthem for the ages with the funk-laced “Mama.” He also wears his (bruised) heart on his sleeve on desperate soul-pop bop “Love Me Back” (this has to be a single at some stage) and shows off his easy flow on spiky, hook-filled jam “The Real Thing.” When you consider that he also has gems like “Ain’t Too Cool” and “La Cubana” up his sleeve, that debut LP is shaping up to be a monster.
