Natalie Imbruglia's 'Male' Cover And Tracklist
Natalie Imbruglia makes a long-overdue comeback with new covers album 'Male.'

Natalie Imbruglia’s comeback kicked off in earnest last month with the arrival of new single “Instant Crush.” A cover of Daft Punk and Julian Casablancas’ 2013 club hit, the Australian diva puts a moody, vaguely ominous spin on the song — transforming it into an emotional pop/rock anthem. It’s an intriguing and very promising introduction to the 40-year-old upcoming covers LP Male (due July 28).

The video premiered yesterday (April 20) and it finds Natalie playing a distinctly unhappy homemaker. She serves dinner in full Stepford Wife regalia, while her waxen husband stares into space. Directed by Joe Stephenson, the concept is disarmingly simple, but gives the “Torn” hitmaker room to show off her acting skills and still manages to be seriously creepy. The ending, in particularly, is the stuff of nightmares. Watch up top.
