Popping Up: Nightmare And The Cat
We get to know newcomers Nightmare And The Cat a little better. Watch the video.

Kaya Stewart has serious pop pedigree. The 15-year-old’s dad is Dave Stewart — one half of legendary ’80s pop duo Eurythmics — and her half-brothers play in buzz band Nightmare And The Cat. You could say that music runs in her veins, which becomes increasingly apparent when you listen to the newcomer’s genre-bending debut single “In Love With A Boy.”

Produced by her father, the fiery pop anthem is a mercurial blend of slinky hip-hop beats and quasi-industrial synths. It’s an interesting soundscape for a teenager, but Kaya has enough attitude to hold her own. “I’m in love with a boy and I see him every day,” she sings. “I’m in love with a boy but I’ll never say his name.” Listen to the rebellious anthem and find out where you can see the rising star perform live below.
