Carly Rae Jepsen Interview
The charming pop singer talks to us about her brand new music.

It’s official: Carly Rae Jepsen now has three Top 40 hits to her credit in the United States. Three years ago, the Canadian singer ruled Summer 2012 with her Billboard Hot 100 chart topper “Call Me Maybe,” and in the midst of that reign, her Owl City duet “Good Time” crept into the Top 10, as well.

Now, after an initially unimpressive chart showing with new tune “I Really Like You,” the song has flown up the Hot 100 44 positions to #39 this week. Carly Rae can thank Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Rixton and the rest of the Scooter Braun-managed clan who took part in a lipdub video featuring the song. It premiered just nine days ago, and has racked up nearly 4 million views in that time.

Sadly, what goes up must come down, and sales of “I Really Like You” appear to have cooled off over the past week on iTunes following the lipdub dust-up. But Jepsen has another trick up her sleeve lined up, in the form of a performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show later today.

Who knows — after all this yoyo-ing up and down, “I Really Like You” could just wind up becoming the biggest sleeper hit of the year.
