Did You Hear?

:: Well, this is interesting news. Paul McCartney recently revealed that his Kanye West collaboration on “Only One” was inspired by a Beatles classic — 1970’s “Let It Be.” He also speaks about working with the rapper:”My first thought was, ‘Woah, what am I going to get into here. He is amazingly talented but controversial and can make eccentric moves. I realized if it didn’t work out we’d just say so and shake hands and leave.” [Rolling Stone]

:: Miley Cyrus’ album with The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne is on its way! The as-yet-titled project doesn’t have a set release date as of now, but it does have seven tracks. [Vulture]

:: In weirder news, Madison Square Garden is going vegan for Morrissey’s upcoming concert as per a very public request (he wrote an open letter to Al Gore about the pressing issue). I mean, do we expect anything less from the UK rocker? [Stereogum]

:: Pharrell and Robin Thicke’s court drama is still going strong! The two have filed for new trial over the weekend for their “Blurred Lines” case, as they feel the first one was unfair. [FADER]
