Florence Welch lays herself bare in Florence + The Machine's "What Kind Of Man."

Florence + The Machine’s third appearance on Saturday Night Live was just as impressive as their first two. Barefoot and brilliant, the band’s auburn-haired frontwoman remained seated for “Ship To Wreck” — the latest single from much-anticipated LP How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (due June 2). She delivered a typically heartfelt — and pitch-perfect — rendition of the rousing ode to self-destruction.

The band returned later in the show to perform recent hit “What Kind Of Man” and reminded everyone why they are headlining festivals from Coachella to Glastonbury throughout the summer. Live acts simply don’t get much better. Florence Welch knows how to squeeze every last drop of emotion from a lyric, while The Machine live up to their name with flawless musicianship.
