Idolator Interview: Jess Glynne
The singer talks forthcoming debut LP and...Dolly Parton!

Jess Glynne is coming into her own as a solo star, but the UK artist also does incredibly well with collaborations — I mean, have you not heard “Rather Be” with Clean Bandit?

Glynne’s latest collaboration is with fellow UK musician, London rapper Tinie Tempah. Titled “Not Letting Go,” the song drifts away from the “Holy My Hand” singer’s usual dance-y vibe — which is totally refreshing! It is a feel-good uptempo that has flecks of R&B influence that is heard in Glynne’s soulful vocals and the melodic production. Tempah’s verse also flows as smooth as the song’s bassline.

The rapper had this to say about the collaboration:

“I’ve been a fan of Jess since I heard her song ‘Home’.” We met properly at the BRITs last year and spoke about doing something together. We both had crazy summers and kept bumping into each other at festivals. We eventually set a date for studio with Bless Beats who produced the track and it just kind of happened. Both being Londoners, I wanted to make a song that captured that London summertime feeling which is always the best time of the year for me and the time where I’ve had my most romantic experience. So it’s an ode to a girl I met and our experiences in this amazing city we call home – London!”

“Not Letting Go” will officially be released on June 21, but you can take a listen below! It is the first taste of Tinie Tempah’s follow-up album to 2013’s Demonstration, and will also appear on Jess Glynne’s debut I Cry When I Laugh LP (out on August 14 in the UK). Be sure to let us know if you’re digging it in the comments.
