Lianne La Havas Returns With "Unstoppable"
Lianne La Havas returns in fine style with breezy jazz-pop gem "Unstoppable."

Lianne La Havas returned in late April with breezy jazz-pop anthem “Unstoppable.” In some ways the first taste of the Brit’s sophomore LP Blood picks up where her critically-acclaimed debut left off — but the sound is bigger, bolder and more euphoric. Those elements come across in the super stylish video, which was directed by Olivier Groulx (he helmed Alt-J’s “Every Other Freckle” and Bastille’s “Bad Blood”).

The video strikes me as a modern twist on Janet Jackson’s ’80s classic “The Pleasure Principle.” Lianne twirls and twists as opposed to busting out intricate choreography like Damita Jo, but the focus is very much on her and the beauty of movement. It’s a striking concept and suits the sophisticated anthem surprisingly well. Watch “Unstoppable” up top.
