Kat DeLuna comeback single "Bum Bum," her new LP and sexy nude single cover.

After concentrating on the European market for several years, Kat DeLuna made a welcome return to US radio earlier this year with Trey Songz-assisted anthem “Bum Bum.” The sexy bop samples Sister Nancy’s reggae classic “Bam Bam” and cleverly interpolates Shaggy’s 2001 chart-topper “It Wasn’t Me.” The end result is a hip-dipping slow jam that celebrates women and makes you want to move.

“I’m from New York. I’m… an early ’90s baby, from when hip-hop was in its early days,” the 27-year-old said when I caught up with her in April. “[Bum Bum] brings those colors back.” While that’s certainly true of the original version, the vibe of Frank Delour’s breezy remix is more Miami than NYC. The tempo is a little faster and the sound is more sunny and tropical. Take a listen to the DJ/producer’s remix below.
