Brandon Flowers' 'The Desired Effect': Album Review
Pop music has been dull lately, though Brandon's latest is an exception.

Brandon Flowers had New Order guitarist Bernard Sumner join him on stage last night (May 24) in Manchester to cover “Bizarre Love Triangle,” one of the group’s biggest mainstream hits. To introduce their (faithful) rendition, Flowers told the story of how he discovered New Order himself.

“When I was a kid, I lived in a really small town in rural Utah, and there was nothing exciting happening,” he said. “It was when MTV used to sort of be relevant and play great music videos. I can still see what the room looked like and what kind of day it was outside. And New Order was on. And I was just hooked. It had a big influence on me.”

He isn’t kidding. A few weeks ago, NME reported that Flowers and New Order hit the studio together, likely for the group’s latest record. Watch the “Bizarre Love Triangle” cover below.
