The Weeknd Album Rumors
The Weeknd says that August album release date is bogus.

UPDATE: This is, in fact, the first single from The Weeknd’s forthcoming album, and he co-wrote it with Martin. Hear the official version below.

Thanks to “Earned It,” The Weeknd has gotten a taste of that pop hit life. And it looks like he enjoyed it so much he’s taking a real run at this pop star thing, as he’s linked up with Swedish super-producer Max Martin for a new song called “Can’t Feel My Face.”

It’s the catchiest, funkiest thing Abel Tesfaye has ever done, a post-R.A.M. soul shuffle with a rolling, earworm chorus in which he proclaims, “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you, but I love it.” Tesfaye sometimes gives off hints of Michael Jackson with his voice, and for this song he channels the King of Pop like never before, from the sense of command over the melody to the yelpy ad-libs.

Whispers around the web suggest this is the lead single from The Weeknd’s next album, which he and his label said is not coming out in August, as was rumored. Hear it below and let us know if you think it’s a future smash.
