Hurts Return With “Some Kind Of Heaven”: Listen To The Duo’s Upbeat New Single

It’s somehow been five years already since Hurts first arrived with their stunning single “Wonderful Life,” which preceded their fabulously gloomy 2010 debut, the ironically-titled, Kylie Minogue-featuring LP Happiness. Since then, the duo went on to release slightly less stellar sophomore album Exile in 2013, while appearing (along with Alesso) on Calvin Harris’ UK chart-topping single “Under Control” that same year.

Now the British duo, comprised of Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson, are back, and their sound is way more upbeat than expected — at least on new single “Some Kind Of Heaven.”

The song was made available to download from iTunes and stream on Spotify today (via Sony), and it features booming percussion, New Wave-like synths and a sing-song chorus adorned with Hutchcraft’s tenor and bright female backing vocals.

All in all, not a bad change-up in aesthetic from these guys, once you get used to their more chipper demeanor.
