Max Martin’s first songwriting and producing credits on a prominent hit song in the US bubbled up 20 years ago, via Ace Of Base’s bouncy 1995 Eurodance classic “Beautiful Life.” Who could have predicted then that this onetime Swedish metalhead would go on to define the sound of the following two decades of pop?

Given this achievement, the experts here at Idolator decided to revisit each of Martin’s chart-topping smashes to see how they’ve held up over the years, and to rank them accordingly. Get into it by flipping through our roundup below, pop fanatics!
