Five Knives Take On Rihanna To Create “Bitch Only Wants My Money”: Idolator Premiere
Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” is shaping up to be one of the most pliable songs of the summer. A slew of producers (Flosstradamus, R3hab and Diplo & Grandtheft) have put their own spin on it, while Kelly Clarkson transformed the murky trap anthem into a jazzy jam for BBC Radio 1. Five Knives now throw their hat into the ring by mashing the hit with their own track “Money” to create “Bitch Only Wants My Money.”
Spliced together by band member Nathan Barlowe, the mash-up works surprisingly well. Rihanna sounds at home in the Nashville, TN four-piece’s sexy electronic soundscape. And lyrically, “Bitch Better Have My Money” and “Money” are coming from the same place. “I only want you for your money,” sings frontwoman Anna M’Queen. “It’s not because I think you’re funny, these dollar bills keep me coming.” Listen to the mash-up below.
