The ‘Jurassic Park’ Theme Is Storming The Charts Right Now

Jurassic World hits theaters today (June 12), and because nostalgia drives every facet of pop culture now, the reboot has even sparked a resurgence of the original Jurassic Park theme song. The iconic 1993 instrumental, composed by John Williams, is officially a Top 10 hit, landing at #9 on Billboard‘s Classical Digital Songs chart last week, and now rising to #6.

With nobody willing to step up and make an undeniable Song of the Summer (though, as far as I’m concerned, The Weeknd has entered the best bid), maybe this thing will crossover to the Hot 100 on the back of a bunch of nostalgic streams. Because of chaos theory and all that, we may then actually get the ancient, wordless, novelty summer hit we all deserve.
