Muse Replace Florence + The Machine On Top Of The Album Chart With ‘Drones’
Florence Welch finds herself with her fellow countrymen Muse atop the Billboard 200 this week, as the British band’s seventh studio album Drones nabs the #1 spot after moving 84,000 units (79,000 of which were actual sales). Overall, it’s the fourth Top 10 album for Muse, and Drones follows 2012’s The 2nd Law, which peaked at #2 on the chart and contained the Matt Bellamy-led act’s double-Platinum smash “Madness.”
Florence + The Machine’s third LP How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful thus drops from the top spot down to #4 on the Billboard 200.
And in keeping with the theme of British bands having a good week on the album chart, the deluxe (and super-deluxe) reissue of the Rolling Stones‘ classic Sticky Fingers goes in at #5. The LP, which contains such staples as “Brown Sugar” and “Wild Horses,” originally peaked at #1 upon its release in spring 1971.
