Details on Robyn's new dance-centric side project/band.

Robyn has released “Love Is Free,” the first single from her new band Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique with Markus Jägerstedt and the late Christian Falk. The track is an homage to ’90s house — no drops here, just one of those insistent thumpers that would soundtrack a sweaty slo-mo scene with lasers flashing and people throwing their hands up.

“Love Is Free” features New York-based Mad Decent affiliate Maluca, and Robyn says the foundation of the track was one of the first things she and Falk started working on for this project. It’ll appear on a forthcoming La Bagatelle Magique “mini-album” of five or six songs, and if this track doesn’t make it clear that the release will be dance-focused, Robyn also said the main themes are “freedom, carton drums and sweat” and that she aimed to make “a collage to dance to.”
