2. “70’s Love Groove” (“You Want This” B-Side) 1994

Your smooth and shiny feels so good against my lips I want you so bad, I can taste your love right now baby You’ve got me so wet Ooh, I want you inside me

This eye-watering gem was relegated to B-Side status — probably because it’s the closest thing to aural porn in the diva’s discography. The breezy production is a delight, however, and it still holds up surprisingly well today.

3. “Twenty Foreplay” (Design Of A Decade: 1986 – 1996) 1995

You’ve made love to my mind Now you gotta take me from behind

More sensual than explicit, “Twenty Foreplay” was one of two new tracks on Janet’s greatest hits compilation Design Of A Decade: 1986 — 1996. It was a minor international hit, but stands out as one of the pop icon’s classiest mid-tempo jams.

4. “My Need” (The Velvet Rope) 1997

Won’t make excuses I just want you inside baby

If the 49-year-old raised eyebrows with the overtly sexual content of 1993 LP Janet, she positively made jaws drop with The Velvet Rope. The album takes no prisoners lyrically — documenting the diva’s interest in S&M, role play and various other fetishes. Believe it or not, “My Need” is actually one of the less explicit cuts.
