'The Desired Effect': Review
Brandon Flowers' second solo album is a stellar piece of pop.

Brandon Flowers is a product of the ’80s, and his musical legacy thus far has been defined by his penchant for taking the unapologetic bombast and emotions of ’80s pop and filtering it into a modern Vegas-skewing context.  While on tour to support his vibrant, new wave-indebted album The Desired Effect, Flowers has gotten to share the stage with some of his heroes from that decade, performing a cover of New Order‘s “Bizarre Love Triangle” with Bernard Sumner and teaming up with Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders. He can now add Huey Lewis to the list of ’80s icons he’s joined live.

Huey Lewis And The News were performing a show in Atlantic City on Friday (June 19), and the MOR rock staples brought out The Killers‘ frontman for “Do You Believe In Love,” their 1982 single and first top ten hit.
