Giorgio Moroder's 'Déjà Vu': Album Review
We review Giorgio Moroder's latest LP, which features collabs with Sia and Kylie Minogue.

2015 is shaping up to be the year of the veteran producer. 75-year-old Giorgio Moroder got the ball rolling by releasing his first studio LP in several decades, while 63-year-old Cerrone dropped a greatest hits album complete with new remixes. Joining them on the comeback trail is legendary French composer/electro-pioneer Jean Michel-Jarre. He returns after an eight-year break with stunning M83 collaboration “Glory.”

Built around (M83 frontman) Anthony Gonzalez’s dreamy vocal, the electro-anthem is a roller-coaster ride through a starry synth-scape. “We belong to the other land, we will never have it all,” the Frenchman laments over Jarre’s beautiful arrangement. The video arrived today (June 23) and it’s suitably striking. Director Lisa Paclet says she wanted “to make a film which glorifies human action, any action, even if completely meaningless.” To do that she glorified “useless action though a series of absurd sports, preformed by athletes that run after unreachable, constantly shifting goals.” Watch up top.
