Adam Lambert’s “Ghost Town” Becomes His Highest-Charting Single In 5 Years
Adam Lambert kicked promotion of his third album The Original High into full gear last week, which paid off nicely when it came to the Billboard 200; today the LP made its debut at #3 on the chart, behind only James Taylor‘s 17th studio set Before This World at #1 and Taylor Swift‘s ever-present 1989 at #2. (The Original High also bested new releases by Hilary Duff and Nate Ruess, who landed at #5 and #7, respectively.)
Likewise, “Ghost Town,” Lambert’s lead single off the album, arrived on the Billboard Hot 100 at #73, marking the singer’s first showing on the publication’s main singles tally since “Better Than I Know Myself” made it to #76 in 2012, and his highest chart placing since “I Had You” landed at #30 in 2010. To-date, Adam’s highest-charting single, stateside, is “Whataya Want From Me” (#10, 2010).
Mirroring the US chart success of The Original High, Lambert’s third LP reached #4 in Australia (his highest-peaking album so far in that territory) and became his first Top 10 in the UK when it debuted at #8 on Sunday.
All in all, we say it’s time to give this guy a round of applause for a job well done!
