Rita Ora Performs “Poison” On ‘The Graham Norton Show’: Watch
Rita Ora performed her new single “Poison” on The Graham Norton Show, in efforts to promote its official June 28 U.K. release. The bland pop ballad in itself is a tough sell; for all Ora’s talk about toxicity, she sounds as if she is trying to play it safe. Still, at least in a live setting her powerful vocals are more pronounced, to where she sounds like she’s taking the subject matter to heart.
“[‘Poison’] came from my experience in poisonous relationships,” Ora says to Hunger. “I’m not pointing fingers at anybody – it’s basically about all my exes combined. I just thought that I’ve put enough songs out that are party tunes – that I’m so happy that people like, of course – but I wanted to put something out that was like, ‘You know what, this is what’s getting on my nerves right now.'”
