2015 BET Awards: Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar & Chris Brown Perform, Janet Jackson Is Honored + Full List Of Winners
Last night (June 28), the 2015 BET Awards aired — and it was a night filled with highlights! On the winners end, Nicki Minaj was the leading lady of the evening as she took home two wins: Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award.
Sam Smith won Best New Artist, while Rae Sremmurd snatchd Best Group and Kendrick Lamar was given the title of Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. But enough with the winners — the performances are what everyone was talking about!
K. Dot kicked off the ceremony with a wildly energetic performance of “Alright,” and Chris Brown popped up numerous times throughout the night as he entertained the crowd with the Tyga-assisted “Ayo” and “Post To Be” with Omarion. He also joined Meek Mill and Nicki for their “All Eyes On You” performance. The Weeknd wooed the crowd with “The Hills” and “Earned It,” which guest starred Alicia Keys.
The All-Star tribute to Bad Boy Records was a major moment at the BET Awards, with Diddy, Mase, 112, Faith Evans, French Montana and Lil Kim all making appearances. The audience could barely contain themselves with excitement with every reveal. Another key moment at the ceremony was Tinashe, Ciara and Jason Derulo coming together to honor Janet Jackson‘s iconic dance moves — which included the famous routines from “Pleasure Priciple,” “If” and “Rhythm Nation.”
