Idolator Interview: Adam Lambert
We spoke to Adam Lambert about the funky, housey sound of his new album.

Adam Lambert has been everywhere in the lead up to release of third LP The Original High. And all the magazine covers and interviews are paying off — the album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 last week, while lead single “Ghost Town” reached a new peak of 73. The promo continues with a brooding pictorial in Fault magazine. He rocks a bow tie and leather jacket combination on the cover, but loses the shirt altogether in other pics.

The 33-year-old also shed some light on the overall concept of The Original High in the accompanying interview. “It’s about the pursuit of happiness,” Adam revealed. “We all have something that gives us pleasure, but that thing can sometimes turn on you and put you through hell.” He also talks about how he grew as an artist during the recording process. “I think I feel more confident in my talent than I did before, and more clear in my direction,” the heartthrob says. “I don’t feel I have to assert myself as much, which means there’s a lot less ego in the music.” Click through the pics up top.
