Here's our take on his sprawling follow-up to 'Kaleidoscope Dream.'

Jason Derulo may have paid tribute Janet Jackson at the 2015 BET Awards, but now he honors her brother Michael in the new video for his latest single — “Cheyenne.”

During the singer’s appearance on Good Morning America earlier this month, he explained the visual’s theme. “I wanted to take it back to where videos had a huge concept, and also a huge dance break,” Derulo stated. “The video is kind of like The Haunting — Cheyenne is haunting my mind.”

The Syndrome-directed clip follows through with that promise, as it shows Derulo stuck in a haunted mansion where he can’t seem to shake off Cheyenne’s love spell. The hints of inspiration from Michael Jackson’s “Ghosts” video (especially during the awesome dance break) works well with the song’s late ’80s moody vibe.

“Cheyenne” follows songs like the Jennifer Lopez-assisted “Try Me,” “Broke” featuring Stevie Wonder and Keith Urban“Get Ugly” and the lead single —“Want To Want Me.” Everything Is 4 was released on June 4 via Atlantic Records.
