Carly Rae Jepsen has announced the release date for her third LP and the next single.

Carly Rae Jepsen rocks black hair and a leather jacket on the cover of Elle Canada. It’s an edgy look for 29-year-old, which reflects the evolution of her music away from the pure-pop sound of Kiss. The intensely-likable diva spoke about her new sound and unexpected collaborations (Sia, Dev Hynes and Rostam Batmanglij) in the accompanying interview, saying: “I wanted to experience something different with E·MO·TION.”

“I was reaching out to people myself; [the collabs] may seem a bit unexpected, but it was important for me to try and work with them,” she continues. “I gave myself time to experiment and make some left turns.” Some of her wilder experiments, however, didn’t end up on the album. “I think it’s hard for artists when they’re known for one type of music—you go through this rebellion stage and think ‘But I’m so much more!’ And I definitely felt that. So I wrote about 200 songs just for me and my own heart.” Check out the full cover below.
