Miguel's 'Wildheart': Review
Here's our take on his sprawling follow-up to 'Kaleidoscope Dream.'

Prince has been releasing music at a pretty steady clip over the past couple years, and after dropping two albums last year — Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum with 3rdEyeGirl — he’s continued with a string of loosies in 2015, first sparked by the protests in Baltimore a few months ago. Today (July 1), he premiered “HardRockLover,” a scorching number that finds the Purple One back in shred mode, extolling the virtues of the guitar as he whispers, “Ain’t no rapper trying to be a singer…R&B ain’t got no place” before unleashing some of his funk-rock wails.

To my ears, it’s one of the best songs he’s released during this stretch of activity. Hear it below.
