Rick Ross Preps New Album ‘Black Dollar’
After releasing two albums in 2014, Rick Ross is showing no signs of slowing down this year — even after spending time behind bars on assault and kidnapping charges. While Rozay’s main focus is clearing those charges, in a piece that ran at The Daily Beast just after the arrest but is only now making the rounds on Rap Twitter, his lawyer said he’s prepping his eighth studio album, tentatively titled Black Dollar.
Adamma McKinnon says the album is “dropping soon,” and she claims Ross is in “high spirits” despite the fact that he believes he’s being framed.
“He’s someone who has reached a certain plateau and there are people after celebrities like [him] and looking for monetary gain,” McKinnon said.
Last month, Ross was arrested after allegedly getting into an argument with his groundskeeper, forcing the man into the guesthouse at gunpoint and hitting him in the face twice with his handgun, resulting in an injured jaw and two chipped teeth. The rapper and former prison guard was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and kidnapping, and was in jail for about a week before being released on $2 million bail.
