As one of pop’s indefatigable survivors, it makes perfect sense for Eden xo to cover Journey’s 1981 classic “Don’t Stop Believin’.” The 26-year-old earned a loyal following as Jessie And The Toy Boys (and even opened for Britney Spears on The Femme Fatale Tour), but things didn’t work out. Never one to give up, she simply relaunched under a new name and promptly landed a new deal.

Jessie’s first single as Eden xo — the Fred Falke-produced “Too Cool To Dance” — arrived last year via Virgin Records and she followed that up with “The Weekend” in early 2015. Her latest endeavor is a mash-up of the above-mentioned Journey hit and Natalie Imbruglia’s seminal ’90s anthem “Torn.” The tracks blend surprisingly well and she peppers the mash with biting commentary about the music industry: “there’s nothing real, labels lie. The conversation has run dry. What the fuck is going on?” Let’s hope she hasn’t hit another snag!
