With ‘R8’ Still In Limbo, Rihanna Reportedly Turns To Super-Producer Timbaland
How do you solve a problem like R8? Bin it and start again from scratch is one option. That sounds a little dramatic, but promo for the album ground to screeching halt when “American Oxygen” fell off the charts faster than Lotus and Rihanna is reportedly working on new tracks. It looks like one of the collaborators on the new (and hopefully improved) version of the LP will be super-producer Timbaland.
RiRi was spotted arriving at the hitmaker’s New York studio at 2am on July 8, which adds weight to the rumors that she’s doing some hardcore tinkering with the original album. It will be interesting to see if any of the leaked snippets (“The Deep End,” “Only If For A Night,” “Kiss Me Quick,” “Higher,” “A Night” and “James Joint”) end up on the final version of R8. In the meantime, Rihanna has breathed some life into the era with that controversial “Bitch Better Have My Money” video. The bump in streaming helped the track reached a new peak of number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
