Could Enrique Iglesias have another “Bailando”-sized smash on his hands with an English version of global smash “El Perdon”? A collaboration with reggaeton heavyweight Nicky Jam, the moody banger has already topped the charts in Italy, Spain and Mexico — not to mention topping Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. It also peaked at number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the video has racked up 125 million+ views on YouTube.
“Forgiveness” arrived today (July 10) and it makes the transition from Spanish into English seamlessly. “I heard you’re doing better without me, girl this is driving me crazy,” Enrique croons sweetly. Nicky then steps in to share his break-up story: “She let go. She killed me when she said it was over.” It all sounds a little heavy, but those hip-swinging reggaeton beats are pretty irresistible and the chorus packs a powerful punch in any language.
