Drake debuted three remixes during the premiere of his Apple Music show OVO Sound. The songs he chose to rework are “Sweeterman” by Toronto rapper Ramriddlz, “Drama” by Toronto rapper-singer Roy Wood$ and “Ojuelegba” by Nigerian pop artist Wizkid, the latter of which also features British grime rapper Skepta.

Drake has dropped remixes in batches by rising artists before — or, in the case of Wizkid, a global artist who deserves more attention in North America. (He’s often cited as the first Nigerian musician to have over 1 million Twitter followers.) This isn’t just to show how Drake searches for new music; if these remixes draw more attention to said artists, then they become proof of how influential Drake’s cosign can be.

Side note: Fans of Drake have noted how on OVO’s official website, Drake’s page says “September 24” — that’s it. Could that be the release date of his fourth album, Views from the 6? Ponder that while checking out the remixes below.
