The Scottish synth-pop trio talk its upcoming sophomore LP, out September.

Shortly after Chvrches announced sophomore album Every Open Eye, the synth pop band performed three songs from the record at Pitchfork Festival in Chicago.

The live set included lead single “Leave a Trace,” which vocalist Lauren Mayberry has called the record’s “middle finger mic-drop.” But Chvrches also performed “Make Them Gold,” which is driven by its butterflies-in-stomach excitement, and “Clearest Blue,” where Mayberry pleads that someone want to want her before the song’s climactic dance drop.

Every Open Eye, out September 25 on Glassnote Records, follows Chvrches’ 2013 debut The Bones of What You Believe, featuring buzz single “The Mother We Share.” See Chvrches perform their latest material below.
