Pharrell's "Freedom" Video
Pharrell's "Freedom" is the comedown after "Happy" — and its video reflects that.

Prince‘s “Baltimore” video begins with national headlines flashing on the screen. They relay news about the protests that broke out in the “troubled” Maryland city last spring, when resident Freddie Gray died of a spine injury after being arrested by police. Meanwhile, Prince references Ice Cube: “Nobody got in nobody’s way / so I guess you could say it was a good day / at least a little better than the day in Baltimore.”

Then the video shows the faces of these protesters. Most of them are young, demanding change but also respect in hopes for a better future. “Black lives are more important than property,” one sign reads. Prince’s “Baltimore” clip also features stills from his benefit concert in the city. There’s one of himself, and another of Miguel and Roots drummer Questlove. But those aren’t the most important images presented here.
