Azealia Banks Reportedly Thinks Nicki Minaj’s Ass Isn’t VMA-Worthy, Leaves Her Label
There are so many moving pieces in this whole MTV VMAs Twitter drama — from Nicki Minaj expressing her disappointment over this year’s Video Of The Year nominees to Taylor Swift misinterpreting Nicki’s intentions to Taylor’s ultimate apology — that, naturally, Azealia Banks decided to hop into the mix to make things even more tense.
The Broke With Expensive Taste songbird first went on a rant at her own lack of VMA nominations, declaring on Twitter, “All my videos deserve VMas and my album deserves a Grammy but I’ll never get one because America doesn’t like opinionated black women.”

According to Billboard, Banks apparently later chided Nicki Minaj’s lament at her own supposed lack of nominations by tweeting, “But all u did was show ur ass, an ass we’ve all seen plenty of times.” Said tweet is currently nowhere to be found on the Twitter feed of recent butt-baring Playboy model Azealia.
What is still visible is another rant about the state of pop music in general:
I just think that EVERYONE in the Pop-sector gets away with being mediocre. So the awards shows just become a mediocrity contest.

Pop-culture needs to be re-vamped. Just to make it enjoyable again. The chinks in its armor are too visible and no one believes the hype

Pop culture used to be sort of cool in the 90’s. It felt good to be a part of it…..

Now I just feel like I’m doing myself and my blackness a disservice by listening to/entertaining the shit. — AZEALIA BANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) July 22, 2015
And as much as I would love to be at the top of the pops, I’m not really willing to make the personal sacrifices one must make to get there.

In other news, Banks says she’s no longer signed to the record label arm of Prospect Park, which distributed her debut album upon its release last fall.
I’m leaving Prospect Park guys. AB is back on the market!
