Zendaya Previews Her Sophomore LP With A Snippet Of New Timbaland-Produced Banger
It looks like Zendaya’s sophomore album is coming together nicely. The 18-year-old recently hit the studio with legendary songwriter Diane Warren, who loudly sang her praises on Twitter, and has been diligently working on new tracks with Timbaland since March. The “Replay” diva shared the first taste of that creative union on Instagram yesterday and it sounds dope. “Put you on that high definition love,” she sings seductively over quasi-militaristic percussion.
While there’s still no release date for the teenager’s new LP, the lead single can’t be too far away. Which will make the charts very interesting with former Disney labelmates Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato also rolling out new material. Those women have done an impressive job of reinventing themselves in 2015 but, if this snippet is any indication, Zendaya could pull off the biggest coup yet — by reemerging as a credible R&B/hip-hop artist.
