We’re used to hearing Jess Glynne on vibrant feel-good tracks — but on her latest song, the UK singer is taking a more emotive turn.

Titled “Why Me,” the track is surprisingly downtempo and places Glynne’s powerful vocals to the forefront. Her completely fed-up tone is backed up weighty bass drops that slightly ring back to the dubstep era, as well as beautiful gospel-tinged harmonies and echoing yelps.

Look out for the singer’s debut I Cry When I Laugh LP on August 21 in the UK and September 11 in the U.S. It features tunes like “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself,” “Hold My Hand,” “Ain’t Got Far To Go,” “Real Love,” “Rather Be” with Clean Bandit, “My Love” with Route 94 and her “Not Letting Go” collaboration alongside Tinie Tempah.

Take a listen to “Why Me” below.
