Melanie Martinez teases debut LP 'Cry Baby' with her demented "Pit Party" video.

Melanie Martinez’s debut LP Cry Baby is shaping up to be one of the most original pop albums of 2015. From the melodic mayhem of lead single “Pity Party” to the wacky bubble-drops of buzz track “Soap,” the 20-year-old has proved time and again that she does things a little (ok, a lot) differently. Need further proof? Check out the mind-bending video for new promo single “Sippy Cup,” which is a sequel of sorts to breakthrough hit “Dollhouse.”

Produced by Kinetics & One Love, “Sippy Cup” is another bleak examination of family life. It explores similar themes to “Dollhouse” (namely that everything is awful), but Melanie is in an even darker place this time around. That is reflected by the twisted video, which finds our vintage clothing-clad heroine floating on a cloud with angels wings. My first reaction was, “oh cute!” — that is until I realized that she was playing a dead kid. Watch the eerie visual up top.
