Pop Perspective: Selena Gomez's "Good For You"
Selena Gomez's "Good For You" gets reviewed and rated by all four Idolator editors.

While it’s still too early to call, Selena Gomez seems to have the edge in the much-hyped battle of the former-teen queens. Despite a surprisingly low-key promo push, “Good For You” is a legitimate hit — number eight on pop radio (and rising fast), number nine on iTunes and number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, Demi Lovato’s more accessible “Cool For The Summer” is taking a little longer to catch on. That bodes well for Sel’s fifth studio LP Revival (due October 10).

Selena unveiled the album’s next cut on day one of the iHeartMedia’s Music Summit. It’s called “Same Old Love” and appears to have been co-written by Charli XCX. According to the APRA registration, the 23-year-old’s new single was produced by Benny Blanco and Stargate. That’s an exciting line-up. Those collaborators are known for their ability to churn out a catchy banger and the pop princess already mastered electro-pop on Stars Dance, so we could be in for a special treat.
