Robin's Solo Version Of "Back Together"
Robin Thicke drops a solo and very explicit version of new single "Back Together."

“Back Together” could be the song that puts Robin Thicke’s popularity-eroding Paula era to bed once and for all. Produced by Max Martin, the upbeat, ’80s-inspired pop anthem is the 38-year-old’s catchiest tune since “Blurred Lines.” Nicki Minaj’s verse is a little unnecessary, but the comeback king has already righted that wrong with a solo take. That’s the version he performed on GMA today (August 12) — albeit without the expletives.

Robin really brought the song to life this morning — cramping a full band into the tiny studio. He looked typically suave in a sharp suit and showed off his powerful pipes while playfully strutting around the stage. “Back Together” is the second cut from the R&B crooner’s eighth studio LP. It follows Ricky Reed-produced slow jam “Morning Sun,” which dropped in late June. Watch him in action up top.
